Gift Bearers carry the unconsecrated bread and wine from the back of the church to the altar during the Offertory.
These gifts represent the offerings of the entire congregation and will become the Body and Blood of Christ during the Eucharistic Prayer.
The act of carrying the gifts reflects the community’s spiritual and material offerings, our work, our lives, and our prayers.
-The bread and wine will be on the small table behind the pews near the main entrance (by the gathering area).
-When the priest comes forward for the children's collection gift bearers go stand by the gifts.
-After the children have stopped going up and the altar servers have come down by Father, the gift bearers carry the gifts up.
-The priest will take them one at a time
-The priest will bow, then the gift bearers bow to him, and return to their seat.
