Core Responsibilities
- Singing hymns, psalms, and liturgical responses during Mass
- Playing instruments to accompany congregational singing
- Participating in choir rehearsals and performances
- Leading or supporting musical elements of the liturgy, such as the Gloria, Responsorial Psalm, and Communion hymns
- Arriving early to prepare and set up for liturgical celebrations
- Encouraging active participation from the congregation through music
Commitment & Preparation
- Attending regular rehearsals and practicing assigned music
- Being available for scheduled Masses, often weekly or monthly
- Preparing spiritually and musically for each liturgy
Spiritual & Liturgical Awareness
- Understanding the liturgical calendar and adapting music accordingly
- Collaborating with the choir director, liturgical coordinator, or parish priest
